Myrtle Beach Webcams
Welcome to Myrtle Beach Web Cams! From the webcams here, you can get a preview of what the beaches look like before you head here for your vacation.Whether you choose to drive, fly, or take a train or bus, you'll find that Myrtle Beach is easily accessible, no matter which mode of transportation you select. In fact, traveling to Myrtle Beach has never been easier, thanks to improvements to the region's roadways and airport. For example, the Veterans Highway, or the Conway Bypass, is designed to relieve some of the traffic jams that tend to happen along U.S. 501 and S.C. 544 and Highway 9. The addition of interchanges S.C. 319 and 905, along with U.S. 701, are also meant to help improve traffic flow.
Highway 31, running parallel to the ocean and Highway 17, opened in 2002, allowing easy access from the north end to the south end of the Grand Strand.
Once you arrive in Myrtle Beach, you should find it fairly easy to get around. It's important to remember that Ocean Boulevard and Kings Highway (or Business Hwy. 17) run north and south along the Grand Strand, parallel to the ocean. Intersecting these are east-west avenues which are numbered sequentially. Highway 17 Bypass, frequently referred to as just "the Bypass," starts in Murrells Inlet and extends north until it joins with Kings Highway near the Restaurant Row district. It is also the Grand Strand's westernmost highway running parallel to the Atlantic. If you intend to fly, you'll be pleased to know the Myrtle Beach International Airport is the object of an $8.9 million renovation that includes runway upgrades, hanger changes, and terminal improvements.
Airlines which offer service to Myrtle Beach include Air Canada, Delta, Continental, Midway, Spirit, Air Tran, US Airways, and Vanguard. If you prefer taking a train, Amtrak service is available through a terminal in Florence, S.C. Buses can then transport you the 70-mile distance to Myrtle Beach. To travel from the Grand Strand to neighboring towns, you can board CRPTA (Coastal Rapid Public Transit Authority) which offers bus transportation along the major thoroughfares.
